PharmaVOICE 100 Most Inspiring People in Life Sciences (2008)

In July/August of 2008, Michael J. Harte, Vice President of Strategic Global Accounts, was named as one of the 100 most inspiring people in the life sciences industry by PharmaVOICE. The PharmaVOICE 100 Most Inspiring People were nominated by the publication's readers who identified executives who have inspired and motivated those around them, influenced others as a corporate leader and who have had a positive impact on the industry. Executives selected for this prestigious award were nominated by peers and colleagues in the life-science industry and had to demonstrate several characteristics including:

  • Viewing industry trends as challenges not burdens, as opportunities not obstacles
  • Embodying panache and conviction
  • An innovative creator of out-of-the box and breakthrough strategies, products and services
  • A pioneer of new paths to lift their companies to new heights

Deloitte Technology Fast 500 List (2006)

etrials has been ranked for the second time among the fastest growing technology companies in North America on the 2006 Deloitte Technology Fast 500. Since 1999, etrials has grown its revenues by over 3000 percent. Companies entering the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 must be headquartered in North America and must be a “technology company,” defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. The Fast 500 list is compiled from Deloitte’s 15 regional North American Fast 50 lists, nominations submitted directly to the Fast 500, and public company database research. To qualify for the Fast 500, entrants must have had base-year operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD or $75,000 CD for the United States and Canada, respectively, and current-year operating revenues of at least $5 million USD and CD.


PharmaVOICE 100 Most Inspiring People in Life Sciences (2006)

In July/August of 2006, Dr.Richard Piazza, Vice President of Product Strategy, was named as one of the 100 most inspiring people in the life sciences industry by PharmaVOICE. The PharmaVOICE 100 Most Inspiring People were nominated by the publication's readers who identified executives who have inspired and motivated those around them, influenced others as a corporate leader and who have had a positive impact on the industry. Executives selected for this prestigious award were nominated by peers and colleagues in the life-science industry and had to demonstrate several characteristics including:

Bio-IT 50 (2006)

etrials was included on the Bio-IT World’s inaugural Bio-IT 50 list. The list of 50 companies described as driving “the future of biomedical research and drug discovery” was announced in the March 2006 issue of the publication. The published listing highlighted etrials’ business model and a key competitive advantage—a complete eClinical platform including electronic data capture, eDiaries and interactive voice response that together reduce the “headaches” of preparing multiple databases and trial parameters.


Inc. 500 (2005)

Prior to becoming a publicly traded company, etrials was named to Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 500 ranking of the fastest growing private companies in the country. Inc. 500 ranks privately held companies according to year-over-year sales growth from 2001 to 2004. To be eligible for Inc. 500, companies had to be U.S.-based, independent and privately held through their 2004 fiscal year, and to have had at least $500,000 in net sales in the base year of 2001. In addition, 2004 sales had to exceed 2003 sales. Companies were ranked on cumulative three-year sales growth from 2001 to 2004. Inc. verifies all information using tax documents and audited financial statements from certified public accountants and by conducting interviews with company officials.

Triangle Business Journal’s Fast 50 List (2005)

Prior to becoming a publicly traded company in 2006, etrials was recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in the Triangle at the Triangle Business Journal’s annual Fast 50 list. etrials ranked 12 on the list of 50. The rankings were determined by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, who evaluated and ranked locally-headquartered private companies based on a formula that takes into account both dollar growth and percentage rate of growth over a three-year period.
